Letter...

Dear Pablo,

It is a pleasure to share one of the most precious memories with you. When I was twelve years old, my sister, my father and I, used to take long walks on sundays. It was September. I remembered that in one of those occasions, we went to "Parque O'higgins". We watched the most beautiful show of the year: "kites season". Everything was perfect: sunny weather, family time, kids running all over the place. The most important: my father's smile.
I remember all the different colours of that day. Kites flying in the sky beautifly. When I remember that, brings me peace and quite again. I hope that this memory makes you feel the same as me,
warm regards,
Fran.

What About Capitalism? (Homework)

For some people capitalism's influence has become in a big issue. We have an everyday struggle in terms of achievments. People fail to see the difference between what they need and what they not. Advertising it's a real powerful surce in today's society, involves feelings in their campaigns and makes us feel just exactly how they want for us to feel. That's what happened with the leader girl in "Shopping for one", she listens to those women talk about their families and realizes that she's completely alone. She need to look at her basket, sees that she's buying just for one and compare herself with those women and finaly think that she is in a different track. That she need to get away for a second and think where she really is, what kind of life does she wanna live. Those are just a few of the consequences that Mr. Sicious mention last week about the influence that capitalism has on us. We completely forgot what we are, our essence. Even if we need the money to survive, to reach things, the different uses that we gave to the money makes us to be apart from people.
Although, we need an economic system to live orderly, we must be aware of it. Do not get lost along the way. But don't forget that money should be the way to get things beacause we deserve to have access to a better life, but this has not become in the gold of our lifes. Realizing that we live in a world with more people in, wich we need to share with everyday to keep surviving.

Something about capitalism and some of the consequences.

Something about capitalism and some of the consequences.

Capitalism is a system basically based on private ownership of the means of production, in which personal profit can be acquired through investment of capital and employment of labor. Capitalism is grounded in the concept of free enterprise, which argues that government intervention in the economy should be restricted and that a free market, based on supply and demand, will ultimately maximize consumer welfare.
The capitalist world covered from 1945, vast areas of the planet, its most important areas of influence were North America, Western Union and Japan. Growth accelerated, only interrupted by 1973 energy crisis occurred in all of them. Since the beginning of the 1980s, neoliberalism broke and the state reduced to minimize their participation in economic issues. Politically consolidated, with the exception of the dictatorships in southern Europe, parliamentary democracy. Progressive and conservative governments hardly smooth alternated extremists that distort the liberal model. Western Europe advanced, not without difficulty, towards economic integration and, at the end of the 20th, were the first steps towards political Union.

In my opinion capitalism is a system that makes people get involved but almost by obligation even if they don't want to belong they must obey.
I think that is a little bit selfish to think that a system like that cannot be harmful for people, what about homeless? or indians in Africa or Asia?.
Everybody needs to get involved in something where they really fit in, not an exclusive system where you don’t have any idea of what’s going on with you or your money.
Although is the only system created after “feudalism” so we are exposed and forced to belong, cannot come out of it because we don't even know how do we get into the system, it is completely necessary to read about nowadays news and know what’s going on in all over the world, not just us or our country, we need to know what’s happening with people until the last corner in the world.

Barcelona! Olé :)

Barcelona is situated in the european continent in Spain.
The port of Barcelona has an interesting view and amazing landscape.
Barcelona is separated by independent states.
Has interesting parks to visit, such as: Parque Güell, disign by Antoni Gaudí.
If you are loonking for beautiful lanscapes you must visit Montjuic y Tibidabo.
Barcelona offers the visitor the possibility of touring on foot from the Roman ruins and medieval city to the neighbourhoods of Catalan modernism.
In the historical centre, very close to Las Ramblas, you can found the Barcelona Cathedral and next her Plaza de San Jaime.
One of the most atractive places to visit is teh beach of Barcelona there are around 9 all over the city.
Currently in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, because to the great received immigration during the past 20 years in all parts of the world, lots of languages are spoken.
Some studies talk of more than 200 different languages, but the vast majority of the population speaks Spanish and Catalan.
The city has a long and rich architectural history, starting with the ancient remains of the Roman settlement who founded Barcelona.
Of the medieval period it has been preserved numerous buildings, some of them very notable, especially the Gothic works that are raise in its historic centre called Gothic quarter.
The city also has different examples of contemporary architecture.
One of the famous works of art are the German Pavilion of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, built on the occasion of the international exhibition in 1929, or the Foundation Joan Miró Catalan architect Josep Lluís Sert.
The Avenue of the parallel stands out because of the high concentration of theaters in that corner, such as: "El gran teatro del liceo" y el "teatro nacional de Catalunya".
The fact that Barcelona is a maritime city also makes places of leisure and sports activity, allowing play different sports on the sand, sea and the beaches.
Barcelona is a "sporting city" perfect for any kind of sports.
Barcelona has turned in recent years into a European reference for music, because of the quantity and variety of its proposals.
The former "Palacio de los Deportes" has converted in the "Barcelona Teatre Musical", a large room of performances which are usually uses for performances by artists.Barcelona has become a focal point of the night life in Spain. Currently, the two areas of public alternative and more indigenous of bars and discos in Barcelona are divided between the District of "Gràcia", in the high part of the city, and the neighborhood of "Pueblo Nuevo".

A View From India.

Ernest Hemigway: "Hills like white elephants"
-The Text is about a couple traveling around Spain. They're apparently carrying some issues because in the story the tlak about future, love and happiness. They're trying to resolve their issues about having a baby. In the text it shows the struggle of deciding between life and death. From my point of view I believe that this kind of situations are more conceivable in our times. You can see plenty of young women dealing with abortion. We need to go back to the basics: were human being was respected by who he was from the beggining.

A Bit Of Ancient Culture In Today's Society...

When we talk about culture we must understand it, from the point of view of history.
I'm about to mention what means the influence of celtics, egyptians and indian cultures in today's society.
First of all, the celtics legacy to the British culture are from their languages, craft to their abstract art.
We can see reflected their legacy in today's arquitecture, it is beautiful how far has persist through the years.
However the celtic culture is not mention as an important piece of influence in the British culture.
The conflict origin on Indo-European lands has been since the celtics arrive there, that's why in today's spanish society the dispute between "cataluñenses" and "andalucences" still in dispute
The ancient culture and the today's society has became into an enemy territory where no-one cares about what happened in the past or even research only to get an idea of their own origins.
We can't say the same in the Indian and Egyptian Culture because they has cultivated their beliefs, languages and religion.
There's a reason, and its beacause they were strong in his convictions as a civilization.
Their religion made them able of stand against conquerds and wars, left them in a position that you cannot change or moved, it is how it is.
Although the cristianity arrives in Indian and Egyptian lands, to conquered them, they resist.
Their legacy in today's society is beyond art, language or religion, it's about what they want it to their own people as a worth legacy.
To made them believe that it is worth to fight for what they think is right to die or live for.
